Run in the Shadows

An introduction…

Thanks so much for finding your way here to this tiny corner of the internet which all started in a small alpine town, nestled next to the pristine waters of Lake Wānaka, New Zealand.

I’m passionate about people, places and freeze framing those core memories that pass us by in seconds. I want to document all the details that make your day so uniquely you and tell your love story without words. I aim to deliver compassionate images that not only document your day in a non-intrusive manner but also depict exactly how that moment felt at that exact time. I want to create emotive imagery of you and your loved ones to be treasured throughout the years.

In the lead up and on the day I’ll be an extension of your bridal party, the soundboard for your ideas, as well as your hype woman and champagne topper upper. You can be unapologetically yourself and enjoy every moment. I’ll take care of the logistics & clock watching so you can absorb every single detail with no distractions.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said:

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment”.

Meet Nat, your photographer

Hey I’m Nat; A lover of light and shadow, texture and movement, the little details, the mundane and the ordinary, for nothing is perfect but I strive to capture life’s imperfections perfectly.

After years of working as a professional photographer I’ve realised a couple of things:

01.

The requirement of a banging playlist/podcast to listen to whilst endlessly editing.

02.

The importance of sunscreen being a Brit abroad.

When you combine the two then you get a lot of Fleetwood Mac and darting about in the shadows, because there isn’t ever enough time to apply more sunscreen. As a photographer I want to be there to document your day in a non-intrusive way whilst also being everywhere and nowhere all at once. This is how Run in the Shadows was born, a nod to Fleetwood Mac’s ‘The Chain’ mixed with running around in the background to create the perfect visual diary of your day.

Elopement & small wedding specialist

I’m a big fan of small weddings and elopements. If a big white dress and 100 plus guests fills you with dread… elope! If you couldn’t imagine your celebration without all your family and friends, then throw one heck of a party and make sure you savour every bloody minute. Do what makes your heart happy and as long as you have the support of your number one, that’s all that matters.
