Welcome to the website of Wanaka elopement photographer, Nat Symonds. Run in the Shadows was born from the description of my style of photography, there when you need me, quietly capturing all the little moments unobtrusively when you don’t. Being based in Wanaka, in the South island of New Zealand, we have access to some of the world’s most breath-taking scenery, and the perfect platform for your elopement.

With locations available on the lake shore, as well as high up in the mountains, we can escape to a remote location to get you both married. Helicopters are often used as a form of transport here, giving us a quick easy way up to places such as Roys Peak, Lochanagar and Isobel Glacier.

I’ve been photographing elopements in Wanaka for over 10 years and love being part of your day, not only capturing all the little details but becoming your sounding board, thrower round of ideas and elopement guide along the way.
